2005/2006 Race Season
Well not much happened for me in the way of racing, i only got to do two race events. But for the 2006 season we hope to do the majority of the rounds at santa pod (funds permitting like all things!).
Summer Nats 05
First event with the new engine and to be honest it wasn't the best we had huge carb problems, too rich air leaks out of balance and the rest so the car would rev to 5000 rpm but past 3000rpm it would lose all grunt, so we only got high 18/low 19 secound runs. After some poor runs in quaflying i broke out in the first round of elimations but no biggy.
Bug Jam 19
An event i was looking foward to but due to the wet stuff on sunday only got 4 runs in. The car behaved better but would only do 17 sec passes as the car hadn't be tuned at the rolling road in time for bug jam didn't get anywhere near my dial times so was low down on the list. But due to the weather on sunday no racing happened, which was a shame as i was strating to get used to launches.
Easter thunderball 2006
The 1st event for me (secound for everyone else) was a supherb meet, with plenty of track time to be had. Over the course of 3 and a half days i made 9 runs in total, as a) rain stopped play early sunday and b) i went out in the 1st round of elims( loosing by .3020 of a sec).
Qualifying went very well as thanks to a lot of fellow racers i got the hand of launching the car of the light's even if my reaction times were slow (except for one run .078 rt). In the end i got my times down to a 17.170 @ 77.98 mph of which i am over the moon about.
The only down side was that when ever the track had been dried instead of carying on racing the would bring out the (sideshow) instead which wasted a lot of time.
Big Bang 2006
Sadly at the 11th hour i had to pull out as the faithfull tow car had lost it's colling fans (seized solid), which was a bummer, but these things happen.
Sorry for the lack of updates here but as soon as im back up and running then the reports will flow!
